Fourth Conference ESEH, Amsterdam, June 2007
WELCOME TO THE FOURTH CONFERENCE OF THE ESEH IN AMSTERDAM, JUNE 2007!
The European Society for Environmental History is pleased to invite you to its fourth bi-annual meeting which will be held from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 June 2007 at the Vrije Universiteit (Free University) in Amsterdam.
Since the first meeting in 2001, the conference has grown out to be the international meeting place for all scholars working at the environmental history of Europe. Roughly, the lay-out of the conference is a meeting of five days with presentations of over 200 papers and posters in parallel sessions, and one day is reserved for excursions. At the opening of the conference a renowned environmental historian presents a key-note lecture. An important feature is that one half day is devoted to the presentation of leading research projects of the Netherlands. A special commitment exists to promote the participation of young scholars. To this end a plenary poster session is foreseen and a careers workshop with editor of leading journals. Also grants will be available.
